Chelsea 2-0 Burnley; Players rating vs Burnley
Thomas Tuchel gets his 1st win as a Chelsea
manager after an impressive performance against Burnley. The only downfall of
this match could and should have been more than 2 goals for the blues. The forward
players needs to be more clinical in front of the goal as they failed convert
some their chances. There is still
certain area that Tuchel must improve on this Chelsea team. Lets see how the
players Performed in a dominant display against Burnley. Tuchel goes with same
3-4-3 formation this match.
Note;(GK-Goal Keeper, CB- Centre Back, LWB- Left Wing Back,
RWB-Right Wing Back, CM- Centre Midfield, RF- Right Forward, LF- Left Forward,
ST- Striker )
GK- Edourd Mendy- For the 2nd game
running he didn’t have to face any shoot on target as Dominant of Chelsea in
the attack and with the unbeatable back 3 in front him. Rating- 5/10
CB- Azpilicueta –
Impressive display from the captain. Again goes forward and defend it well. Scored
the first of goal under Tuchels era with a brilliant strike. Apart from that
rarely tested by Burnley in the attack. Rating 8/10
CB- Thiago Silva- Almost won all his areal
battle against Chris Wood. Looking more comfortable and commanding in middle of
back 3 and stopped Burnley from scoring with their one clear cut chance with a brilliant
tackle. Overall another impressive performance under the new manager. Rating 7.5/10
CB- Ruedigar- Looking like a new player under
the new manager. Dealt well with Robert brady on the left hand side. Few great
crosses to set up the attack for Chelsea. Rating 7/10
RWB- Hudson Odoi- another Man of the Match
Performance in the wing back role Hudson Odoi. Set up the first goal for Azpilicueta
and should have more than 1 assists to his as some of the players failed covert
his good crossing in the back of the net. And also defend it well when it
needed. Unlucky to not get in score sheet after his deflected shoot hits the
post. Looking like a crucial player in this new system and under the new
manager. Rating 9/10(Man of the Match)
LWB- Marcos Alonso
– first start since October and played in his favoured left wing back
position. When he played in the wing back role there will be always a threat
for the opponent team and that what was happened today. Scored superb 2nd goal for Chelsea
with brilliant control and superbly put in the back of the net with nice
volley. This could be the turning point for the Spanish International with
chance of system under new management. Seems like Chilwells place in the
starting line up under a threat. Rating 8/10
CM- Jorginho- The only thing he needs to improve
is his passing ability should more direct and should avoid too many sideways
and backward passing. There is a certain situation where he can pass the ball
forward but he decided to goes backward to the defense. But apart from this alongside
Kovacic he controlled the midfield today. Looks steady in certain critical
situation and controlled the ball well. Created few chances as well to his
mates. Rating 7/10
CM- Mateo Kovacic- few misplaced passes today
but again another outstanding display from the Croatian. Again dribbling his opponent
for fun and so with some brilliant driving forward run. A another player
looking like very crucial for Chelsea in this new system. Heart of some Chelsea
attacks as he set up the attacks to the team. Rating-8/10
LF- Timo Werner- Tuchel could have realised
now that he should not start anywhere near the right or left site of the field.
Either start him on the centre forward or drop him. Not effective in the first
45 minutes on the left site of the attack but had one massive chance from
Hudson Odoi cross but he misplaced his shoot. Players of this level he should
have done better and moved to the centre forward role in the 2nd
half but couldn’t had any chance to
score. Overall if the German International wants to be regular starter under
new manager he should perform much better than this in the upcoming games. Rating 5/10
ST- Tammy Abraham- Had a chance to impress the
manager but he failed to do. His hold up play not at his usual level constantly
loses the ball to Burnley player. Poorest player in first half and not surprise
to see him taken off in the half time. Rating 4.5/10
Substitution
Christian Pulisic for Tammy Abraham- came on
for Abraham in the half time had a massive influence in the match. Nearly scored
from Hudson Odois cross as he shoot was inches away from the finding the back.
Assisted for Alonsos thunderous strike and deserve to be in the starting 11 for
the next match- Rating 7/10
Reece James for Hudson Odoi- Replaced the man of the match for the last 20
minutes and James had his moments as well. Some good defending and had his shoot
saved by Nick Pope. Not deserved to on the bench but with current electrical
form of Hudson Odoi there is no any other choice- Rating 6/10
Kai Havertz for Mason Mount- Came on for Last 10 minutes . Some driving run
and created some issues for the Burnley defense. Rating 5.5/10
Manager
Thomas Tuchel- And
now he can be rate fairly. The intensity of the match looks much better and so
the defending as well. But the tempo of
the match seemed a bit slow certain time because the players making too many sideways
and backward passes which was heavily criticized under previous manager Frank
Lampard. But this kind improvement from Chelsea under his management in less
than a week is very good symptom for Chelsea. There is a lot of improvement
from Chelsea compare to previous weeks. There is still room for improvement
under Thomas Tuchel and he has to improve certain things for the upcoming
matches. Overall dominant win for Tuchel and his team it could have been more
massive if the players were clinical enough in front the goal which another
side of issue Tuchel could address and fix soon. Rating 7/10
